This new range of CANADIAN made Ti - Gear thermal scopes are for the serious operator requiring more optical magnification.
These new models are available with either a 384 X 288 or a 640 X 512 FPA.
There are some things that a user should consider when investigating 12 micron thermals.
Due to the smaller physical size of the sensor even with a similar number of pixels, when compared with that of a 17 micron device, the "optical" magnification is effectively zoomed approximately 1.4 times.
With this effect, when viewed on the AMOLED the image produced is same high quality as that of a 17 micron scope, but with an appropriate price saving by the use of a shorter focal length lens required for any nominal base magnification.
With each similar base magnification, both 12 micron and 17 micron sensors produce nominally the same field of view (FOV). (Comparison chart below).
Having this in mind the new 12 micron series provides the user a real value for money thermal scope.
Inbuilt recording is not available for this series, but all have video output and a cable supplied.
Video can be obtained using an external recorder.
All come with Hard Case, Soft Pouch and cables.
